Mechanical and chemical lysis are combined with Inhibitor Removal Technology to isolate pure RNA free from inhibitors typical of biofilms, including humic acid, metals, salts and pesticides. High-quality and yield RNA was recovered from samples regardless of biofilm origin. Several types of biofilms were collected and RNA isolated from those samples. Resulting RNA quality was assessed through gel electrophoresis; RNA yield was determined using NanoDrop.
